People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing. That’s why we recommend it daily. – Zig Ziglar
Have you ever worked so hard for something in your life that always seems to be just outside your grasp? I have. For me it has been my 25-year struggle with weight loss. It seems like I have fought this battle time and time again, but the number on the scale just kept rising. Failure after failure seemed to stack up and I was left feeling more and more defeated each time – until now.
Something has clicked. Something has changed. Maybe I was scared of dying young, or being destined for a life in plus size clothes (nothing says fat camouflage like a flowered tent of a shirt). Maybe I didn’t want to have to wonder if I would break every chair I sat in. Or maybe I just got tired of being sick and tired. Whatever it was, it was an emotional rock bottom.
I have been dancing around 350 pounds for years (386 was my highest recorded weight) and it has taken its toll physically and emotionally. I recently made the decision to take charge of my life. I vowed to make no excuses and take no detours. I had to find a way to make this weight loss attempt different than all of my past attempts.
I am currently using the Weight Watchers Smart Point program – but I know that different programs work for different people. Find what works for you and do it! I will be cheering you on every step of the way!
So, welcome to my journey, my experiment in staying motivated and becoming the person I was created to be. Just like Zigglar says in the quote above, motivation is a daily thing and we have to keep looking.
This can be your time too you know. You landed on this page for a reason. You are beautiful, and important, and worth spending time on. You deserve to become who you were created to be!
